HAVANA, Cuba, May 1 (ACN) Hundreds of thousands of Cuban people fulfilled today the call of the country’s top leadership to fill the Anti-imperialist Tribune, venue of the celebrations for the International Workers’ Day.
Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, and Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, together with other leaders, attended the event.
They joined the demand of Cubans and friends of the world for the lifting of the US economic blockade against the island, its exclusion from the unilateral list of alleged State sponsors of terrorism and the cessation of the genocide perpetrated by the Zionist forces against the people of Palestine.
One of these solidarity activists is the young Alexandra Valai, from Greece, who in her first visit to Cuba as a member of the International May Day Volunteer Work Brigade highlighted to the Cuban News Agency the history of solidarity and resistance that unites her homeland with the Caribbean nation.
