HAVANA, Cuba, May 13 (ACN) Cuban canoeist Yarisleidys Cirilo won the bronze medal in the single scull (C-1) at 200 meters, at the closing of the World Sprint Canoe World Cup, held in Szeged, Hungary.
According to the website www.canoeicf.com, Cirilo had a bad start, but improved until she finished third with a time of 46.21 seconds, surpassed by the Canadians Katie Vincet (45.54) and Sophie Jensen (46.16), respectively.
Cuban advanced to the A final by winning semifinal two with a time of 45.71 seconds, while her compatriot Yinnoly Franchesca Lopez (49.13) finished ninth in semifinal one and was out of contention for the medals.
