HAVANA, Cuba, May 13 (ACN) Cuba closed with a silver medal the last day of the Ibero-American Athletics Championships 2024, held in Cuiaba, Mato Grosso, Brazil, where it also won three bronze medals.
On Sunday, the triple jumper Andy Echavarria finished second in his discipline with a mark of 16.93 meters (m), to follow Brazil’s Almir Dos Santos (17.31 m) on the podium; while the bronze medal was won by Colombia’s Geiner Moreno (16.54 m).
With this result in the triple jump, Echavarria achieved the best performance among the six Cuban athletes who competed in the tournament.
