Cuban freestyle wrestlers Herin and Sanz today for Olympic quota to Paris

 

HAVANA, Cuba, May 10 (ACN) Cuban freestyle wrestlers Laura Herin, 53 kilograms (kg), and Yaynelis Sanz (57 kg), will seek today the Olympic quota for Paris 2024 in the world wrestling qualifiers, to be held in Istanbul, Turkey, until May 12.

Herin, silver medalist at the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile 2023 and gold medalist at the Central Caribbean Games in San Salvador, also last year, will debut against Azerbaijan’s Gultakin Shirinova.

Her teammate Sanz, champion in the continental event of that combat sport in Acapulco, Mexico, in 2022, will debut against the Romanian Kateryna Zhydachevska, according to the official site of the competition.
