HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 1 (ACN) A delegation from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA by its Spanish acronym) is participating at the 6th UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-6), which brings together in Nairobi, Kenya, more than 5,000 representatives of governments, civil society and the private sector.
The group is headed by Jose Fidel Santana Nuñez, first deputy minister of that body, and participates in the analysis of the draft resolutions and in the High Level Dialogues, in defense of the positions of the developing countries.
Information from CITMA indicates that he is also working on behalf of the Small Island Developing States in their demand for urgent action to address the enormous environmental challenges caused by climate change.
