HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 30 (ACN) The government commission for the attention to demographic dynamics recognized the insufficient relationship between the socio-demographic characteristics of the population and the strategies of territorial, local and community development, according to the website of the Presidency.
The meeting, chaired by Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of the Republic, also ratified the impact of demographic dynamics in all spheres of the country’s economic and social life.
The report said that specialists from the Center for Demographic Studies of the University of Havana reported on an evaluation carried out in 33 municipalities throughout the country.
Matilde Molina Cintra, deputy director of that institution, pointed out that there is progress in the operation of the Groups of Attention to Demographic Dynamics, however, there are still missing fundamental aspects such as the adequate incorporation of the population approach and a development in the designed actions.
