As you probably know by now, my son Jonathan is an actor.
He also works for Eric (day job), but he’s been slowly and steadily building up his IMDb resume, and we’re quite proud of what a hard worker he is.
He gets auditions all the time. Gratefully, they’re self-tapes, which means he is able to just send them in to casting when they ask. He’s got a sweet set up in his room with curtains and lights. You’d be impressed, but that’s not important right now.
So a few months ago, he gets a call that they’ve hired him for a commercial. A McDonald’s Commercial! (I know. Shut up!)
He spent a day in wardrobe and another full day shooting.
Every take required a bite of a hashbrown. And every bite had to be spit out (so he wouldn’t get full).
According to Jon the hashbrowns were perfect. They were warm and tasty, he said. But, he still had to spit them out for each take.
After 75 takes, he was glad for the spit bucket, but came home and immediately went to McDonald’s and got some hashbrowns.
Here’s the spot. It played all down the east coast and he receives royalties when it airs.
So proud of this guy. And a big shoutout of gratitude to Management Montage and Eris Talent Agency.
“I’m loving it!”
