HAVANA, Cuba, May 8 (ACN) From the Vatican City, Pope Francis asked today to pray for the victims of the accidental explosion that occurred at the Saratoga Hotel in Havana, which left a preliminary balance, so far, of 30 people dead and 84 injured.
A dispatch published today by Prensa Latina, dated in Vatican City, informs that the highest representative of the Catholic Church, in a brief comment at the conclusion of the Sunday prayer Queen of Heaven said: May the Risen Christ guide them to the Father’s house and give comfort to the relatives.
Last Friday the Saratoga Hotel suffered the effects of a strong explosion when a tanker truck with liquefied gas was serving its facilities, after which the front and side facades of several floors of the building were demolished and other adjacent buildings were damaged.
