HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 5 (ACN) Cuba’s Jasiel Rivero and his Spanish team Valencia Basket secured the second place in Group B with a 103-71 win over Germany’s Ratiopharm Ulm in the last day of the Eurocup basketball qualifying round.
The Valencians, four-time champions of these tournaments—second only to the Euroleague in terms of quality—finished the round-robin stage with 12 wins and six losses.
Rivero contributed six points to Valencia Basket’s result against the Germans, whereas his teammates Bojan Dubljevic, Mike Tobey and Jaime Padilla called the shots with 19, 16 and 15 points, respectively.
Collectively speaking, they were better across the board, with 56.7% effectiveness in three-pointers (17-30), 62.9% in field goals and 30 rebounds, outmatching the Ratiopharm Ulm, which ranks eighth in the group with 7 wins and 11 losses.
