HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 10 (ACN) Cuba studied a total of 41,597 samples for surveillance during the day, resulting in 2,519 positive results. The country accumulates 11, 966,228 samples taken and 979,929 were positive.
At the end of January 9, 20,176 patients were admitted, 9,910 suspected, 273 under surveillance and 9,993 confirmed active.
Of the total number of cases, 2,343 were contacts of confirmed cases; 80 with source of infection abroad and 96 with no source of infection specified. There were 1,020 medical discharges, accumulating 961,550 patients recovered (98.1%) and there was one death. Thirty-five confirmed patients are being treated in ICUs, 4 of them critical and 31 serious.
Among the 2,519 positive cases, 16.8% (423) were asymptomatic, totaling 136,359, representing 13.9% of those confirmed to date, and the diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (523), 20 to 39 (806), 40 to 59 (771), 60 and over (419).
