HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 7 (ACN) The Latin American Tourism Fair, the most important meeting of the sector in the region, granted Cuba a recognition for its participation for 25 uninterrupted years in the event.
Janet Ayala, tourism counselor of the Cuban embassy to Argentina, told Travel Trade Caribbean that in this year’s edition of the event, held in Buenos Aires, few countries achieved the aforementioned status, which speaks highly of the island’s efforts.
Likewise, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the importance of the Argentinian market in the issuance of tourists to the Caribbean island.
During the days of the Fair, the Cuban stand was visited by the Ministers of Tourism of Argentina and Uruguay, authorities of the sector of the region, tour operators and media interested in the news of the reopening of the destination.
Within the framework of the event, Cuba’s main travel agency, Havanatur, presented several proposals for the new season, including nature tourism, health tourism and packages for the end of the year.
The Latin American Tourism Fair, which concludes Tuesday, was held at the La Rural exhibition center, with more than 20 guest countries.
