HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 3 (ACN) Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez congratulated today on Twitter Cuban doctors and scientists on the Day of Latin American Medicine.
To our doctors, who along with scientists have saved the country, many congratulations and infinite gratitude, the Cuban leader tweeted.
In his message, Diaz-Canel urged that applause should be given today for the health professionals of the Caribbean island and for every life saved during the COVID-19 pandemic.
For his part, Cuban PM Manuel Marrero Cruz joined in the congratulations and pointed out that doctors are the pride of the Cuban people.
At the same time, Cuban foreign minister, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, expressed his admiration and recognition for so much altruism, dedication, solidarity and heroism, inside and outside the country, in the fight against COVID-19.
On the same social media, Cuban minister of public health, Jose Angel Portal Miranda, said that Cuba counts on doctors, faithful successors of Finlay’s and Fidel’s legacy, for the great challenges that lie ahead of us.
To you, dear health professionals, doctors of the body and soul, heroes in white coats who with love heal, save lives, simply thank you,” Cuban deputy PM Ines María Chapman also wrote today.
Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization and Cadre Policy of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, also shared his congratulations to the “Army of White Coats for their extraordinary human work in the confrontation against COVID-19”.
Every December 3, the Day of Latin American Medicine is celebrated, a day that commemorates the birth of Cuban researcher, Dr. Carlos J. Finlay, and the Day of the Cuban Health Worker.
