Havana, Aug 3 (ACN) The Cuban embassy in Ireland thanked the gestures of solidarity from local organizations, institutions and citizens for their support of the island in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and US sanctions.
A donation by the Irish people of 60 thousand 212 Euros to purchase medications and medical items is a supportive gesture with the Cuban people, reads a note published on the Cuban embassy’s website.
The note stresses the value of such aid particularly when the island faces economic restrictions imposed by Washington, including 243 measures passed by the former US administration which are still in force under Joe Biden.
The Irish donation allowed purchasing syringes for the Cuban massive vaccination campaign with locally developed vaccines Abdala and Soberana 02, as well buying antibiotics, the note explains.
