Havana, Dec 21 (ACN) Cuban lawmakers adopted the first Cuba law to establish and define the principles, objectives, instruments and constitutional regime in terms of Territorial and Urban Ordering along with Soil management.
The president of the Parliament’s Commission on Industry, Construction and Energy, Santiago Lajes, said that the law establishes the responsibilities of local People’s Power organs, the National Institute, regional and municipal offices for Territorial and Urban Ordering, as well as the juridical and urban order of the soil.
The new law favors the improvement of instruments of urban planning for space development and legal, administrative and technical processes aimed at using the soil in a sustainable manner.
Lajes said that the declaration of incompatibility or ruin of buildings, the construction over roofs and citadels as new aspects.
Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ines Maria Chapman said that many problems being considered in the neighborhoods are linked to territorial and urban difficulties and that the new law will impact the economic and social development of the country because it is in tune with the country’s Economic Plan and the work ongoing in the communities.
It is not enough counting on a new legislation alone; it is necessary to prepare the people who must enforce it, said the top Cuban official.
