Santiago de Cuba, Nov 15 (ACN) An Aerogaviota flight from Kingston, Jamaica, landed at Santiago de Cuba Antonio Maceo International Airport November 15 to resume connections between the two Caribbean cities.
Cuba began to fully reopen borders November 15 with the Santiago air terminal receiving about 20 weekly flights, a number expected to progressively increase.
The Santiago-Kingston connection will have two weekly flights, Monday and Friday, while other operations will include airlines like InterCaribbean (Jamaica), Viva Airbus (Mexico), Air Century (Dominican Republic) and Sunrise (Haiti), according to Land Operations Director Rafael Merino.
Abiding by COVID-19 protection and sanitary protocols, all Cuban international airports reopened to international tourism following increasing control of the disease on the island, particularly due to the advancement of mass vaccination.
